Our Story
Fit Together Pre & Postnatal Fitness was launched by owner and instructor Aileen Hunt in Winnipeg in 2009, and operated as Fit 4 Two Winnipeg West (a franchise of Fit 4 Two Inc) for 11 years until re-branding and spinning off as a separate business in 2020. Aileen brought her pre/postnatal fitness programs to Winnipeg after experiencing the joys and benefits of exercising during her twin pregnancy and noticing the limited number of options in Winnipeg at that time. She continued teaching through her second pregnancy and beyond to support hundreds of new families every year and has since brought on a team of wonderful instructors to work with her.

Aileen Hunt

Teaches: Prenatal Aquafit, Stroller Fitness, Mom & Baby Fitness, Mom & Baby Barre, Postnatal Core, Infant Massage
With a bachelor’s degree in modern dance, Aileen has had a lifelong love for movement. She has never considered herself a sporty person and fondly remembers signing up for the third grade softball team just to get the cute hat. She's a non-typical fitness instructor who loves moving and being outdoors.
Aileen taught Aquafit classes for several years, including throughout her twin pregnancy. When she became a parent in 2008, she decided to become a certified Manitoba Fitness Council Group Fitness Leader and Pre & Postnatal Fitness Specialist and bring specialized pre/postnatal classes to Winnipeg in 2009. She benefitted from her own programs through her second pregnancy in 2012. Her classes focus on the joy of movement and creating connections with each other and our families.
Aileen is also a self-proclaimed Winnipeg booster, who loves our community and is enthusiastic about making it a better place for us all. Prior to teaching pre/postnatal fitness, she worked and volunteered for several art organizations.
Her love of fitness, community connection and the outdoors drives her desire to help Winnipeg families stay healthy and strong, all while having a good time!

Alisa Hobbs
Instructor
Teaches: Prenatal Yoga, Kids Yoga, Postnatal Yoga, Infant Massage
Alisa attended her first yoga class when she was 20 and fell in love, but it wasn’t until suffering a major back injury years later that she realized yoga was going to become a much bigger part of her life. It was a major component of her rehabilitation for her body and mind, and she knew she wanted to share her practice with others.
Alisa is an E-RYT 500 beginning her teaching journey in 2014 at Source Yoga in Winnipeg with certifications in Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin, and soon found her passion with Perinatal Yoga, continuing her education with the Empowerment Project, and obtaining her Pre/Postnatal Fitness Specialist Certification.

Alison Sass
Instructor
Teaches: Stroller Fitness, Prenatal Fitness
Alison has always been passionate about saying active and keeping fitness fun. As a past dancer and competitive baton twirler, fitness has always been a part of her life. Alison taught recreational dance to children for many years, and became a MFC certified fitness instructor specializing in resistance training in 2012 and added her pre/postnatal specialty in 2021. Her initial motivation was to teach lunch hour fitness classes at her workplace. After seeing how appreciated movement was during a long day of sitting at a desk, she began teaching a variety of classes for her co-workers and community.
Alison participated in Fit 4 Two/Fit Together classes in 2018, when pregnant with her first child and has continued with her second baby. As someone who was never a fan of swimming, she discovered how much fun Aquafit can be! After a surprise C-section, it was tough to get motivated to move again. She found that parent & baby fitness classes assisted with her postpartum recovery both physically and mentally. It was an excuse to leave the house and a great way to connect with other moms.
She is a big believer in keeping movement fun, functional, and approachable. She is happy to be help women through this part of their journey.
In her spare time, Alison likes to spend time to with her husband and two children and loves going to the beach.
Ashley Fenske
Instructor
Teaches: Stroller Fitness, Prenatal Fitness, Mom and Baby Fitness, Parent and Baby Bootcamp, Prenatal Aquafit, Mom and Baby Aquafit, Prenatal and Postnatal Personal Training.
When Ashley became pregnant with her first child health and fitness took on a whole new meaning. Eating well and getting exercise was no longer about losing weight or looking a certain way - it was about being healthy for herself and her baby.
She joined our Prenatal Fitness class in 2013 and hasn't looked back since. Ashley was a participant throughout her first two prenatal and postnatal journeys, and became an instructor after deciding not to go back to her "9 to 5" in the spring of 2017. Her growing list of certifications include Sport Conditioning, Pre and Postnatal Fitness, AquaFitness and Group Cycle.
She loves the community of like-minded women and parents and when asked if she likes her job, she will quickly answer "yes, because I never feel like I'm going to work!" Her main goals are for her participants to feel comfortable in class and to challenge themselves safely.
When she isn't teaching you can find her busy with her three kids. Ashley's favourite family activities include bike rides and hanging out at The Forks.

Darla Gauthier
Instructor
Teaches: Parent & Baby Bootcamp, Stroller Run Club. Virtual Bootcamp, Personal Training- Postnatal and beyond
Darla brings humour, real life grit and hard-core motivation to her classes.
She fondly remembers attending our classes as a participant, after she says she spent approximately three months in pyjamas crying with her baby daughter. She decided to try the classes thinking it’s probably a good idea to leave the house, preferably in something other than pyjamas (but no judgement!)
She remembers having a baby was hard: “It was hard on my body, on my relationships and on my mental and emotional health. For most of us being a mom is uncharted territory, and it made me realize I should apologize to my mom… a lot. But attending these postnatal fitness classes helped me realize that there are incredible women out there who are going through the EXACT same thing and can offer support, encouragement and most importantly empathy and hilarity”.
Darla is a Manitoba Fitness Council certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Pre/Postnatal Fitness Specialist, and mom of two. She teaches our bootcamp class and it is her privilege to witness the strength, humility, determination and honesty our clients bring to each session. As Darla says: “These women are fierce AF and they are an inspiration not just to us, but also to the beautiful babies (that sounds like a line from Swingers) they bring with them”.
Darla’s goal each class is for everyone to leave feeling a little bit better. We work out whatever anxiety, guilt, depression, stress, or even pure exhaustion that is no longer serving us. And then go home and put the pyjamas back on!
Léah Perron
Instructor
Teaches: Prenatal Yoga, Postnatal Yoga
Léah has a degree in Family Social Sciences and has been employed in the Social Work field for the last 10 years. Yoga is another one of Leah’s passions. She is a 200 hour RYT and has taken a number of trainings both locally and overseas. Leah has been teaching many styles of yoga since 2017. Certified in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin yoga, kids yoga and trauma informed yoga; Léah found her passion for perinatal yoga when she was pregnant with her daughter in 2020. This led her to pursue an 85 hour Sacred Birth Pre/Postnatal Yoga certification to deepen her knowledge and ultimately support and guide other mamas throughout their pregnancies and into the postpartum period. Léah is passionate about empowering people to harness their strength, find ease through safe and dynamic movement/ play, understand and apply effective breathwork and mindfulness strategies, prioritize relaxation and reduce physical and mental pain and stress. Léah is a strong believer in the philosophy of uplifting and supporting other women and is honored to be apart of their journeys into parenthood.
Léah first participated in Fit Together Prenatal Aquafit in 2020 and down the road joined postpartum Stoller Fitness with her second child in 2024. After experiencing some challenges in the early postpartum days, she found that being in a non-judgmental atmosphere, in an outdoor setting with like-minded moms helped her start to feel like herself again. Leah quickly knew she wanted to grow with this community and help women prioritize their health. She also hopes to create the same sense of connection with others that was offered to her.
Leah loves all varieties of movement, especially dance parties with her two young children and dog Luna. She also enjoys camping, gardening, cooking, biking, swimming and adventuring around Manitoba.
Robin Cohoe
Instructor
Teaches: Stroller Fitness, Adventure Club, Prenatal Fitness
Physical movement has always been a big component in Robin’s life. Always involved in athletics as a kid, this need to move took form in the shape of skiing, biking, hiking, and canoeing in adulthood. Working in healthcare and seeing the importance that lifestyle choices play into longevity and wellness she has prioritized fitness into her day-to-day life. This importance has been highlighted in the past three years as she welcomed her two children. Being physically fit as a parent of young children is such a valuable tool; not only does it help to calm the mental load, but having some energy left in the tank to tackle the chores, wrestle the toddler and still go on that family bike ride is a gift to yourself and family!
After attending a variety of parent-baby classes while on maternity leave with her first, Robin pursued her fitness training certification through Manitoba Fitness Council with the goal to instruct with Fit Together. She was really drawn to the strong sense of community and support that the programs provide, and is really excited to be leading some of these classes to share that with others
Kisti Thomas-Ring
Instructor
Teaches: Prenatal Yoga, Prenatal Pilates, Parent & Baby Yoga, Parent & Baby Pilates
Kisti has always enjoyed including movement in her day-to-day life. Growing up she found focus and strength in professional ballet school, and in yoga and fitness classes as an adult.
Kisti discovered Fit Together (then Fit 4 Two) after her first baby was born in 2015. She enjoyed the mental and physical benefits of postpartum exercise and the sense of community that is shared in Fit Together classes. After her second baby was born in 2018 she continued taking classes, most often doing stroller fitness with a double stroller and two kids, the eldest often participating alongside. The best motivation was when her son told her she was “as strong as Daniel Tiger’s mama, grrrr!” after class one day!
Completing her Manitoba Fitness Council Yoga Fitness Leader training seemed like a natural extension of her passion for fitness, yoga and meditation. As a birth and postpartum doula, Kisti likes to include elements from Spinning Babies that can encourage an optimal fetal position for labour in prenatal classes, and other more physically ‘closing’ elements in postpartum classes. Participants can always expect some meditation in her classes as well!
Outside of fitness, Kisti enjoys spending her time with her three young kids, cooking healthy food, and learning new things in books and online classes.
Hailey March
Instructor
Teaches: Parent & Baby Fitness, Stroller Fitness, Prenatal Cardio + Strength
Fitness has been an important part of Hailey’s life as long as she can remember. Ever since she was young, she has loved trying new activities to stay active. Hailey grew up dancing, competing and coaching in gymnastics and rock climbing throughout Manitoba with her family. She has played volleyball, ultimate and even tried cross country. It wasn’t until she had her first baby in 2017 and she attended stroller fitness that she found an activity that she truly felt part of a community. After her second child in 2020, and many more Fit Together classes, she knew this was more than a fitness class for her. She wanted to find a way to continue (without necessarily having another baby), which brought her to instructing!
Hailey is certified through Manitoba Fitness Council in sports conditioning and pre- and post-natal, and is looking forward to expanding her training as she moves forward.
Fit Together not only helped her with her physical health after having kids but also her mental well-being. This was the major driving force behind her perusing a career in fitness. She is motivated to help other moms keep active and healthy through this transitional time in their lives.
Hailey would love to welcome you to her class soon!
